When is WAEC result coming out
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) is a body that administers examinations and issues certificates to students who are leaving secondary school in the English-speaking countries of the West African sub-region. Since the council’s examination started in 1998, it has served as the benchmark for secondary school education in Anglophone West African nations like Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Liberia, and The Gambia.
Since its founding, the exam conducted by WAEC – the West African Senior School Certificate (WASSCE) – has maintained its position as West Africa’s most significant exam for secondary school leavers. It is considered to be on par with those issued by comparable examining authorities internationally.
The council administers exams in four main categories. They include national exams, international exams, exams done on behalf of other examining bodies, and exams done in cooperation with other examining bodies. Exams taken in the five nations that have the WAEC law are referred to as international exams. It includes:
- WASSCE for private candidates (first series) January-February
- WASSCE for school candidates March-May
- WASSCE for private candidates (main General Certificate Exam /GCE/) September-October
The focus of this article is the 2022 WASSCE main GCE examination.
