Two suspects arrested in Oyo State have confessed to selling three out of the 5 Nissan Micra automobiles they stole for N70,000 each.
The suspects, Ajibola Abayomi and Makinde Tunji, had been arrested last Friday at Olopometa area of Ibadan by the Oyo State Command of Western Nigeria Security Network also recognized Amotekun Corps.

The Deputy Commandant of Amotekun Corps, Mr. Kazeem Babalola Akinro, who confirmed the arrest mentioned that the suspects had been into stealing of Micra automobiles in the city, which they would take to the buyer at Ijora in Lagos State.

In an interview, Abayomi, a 31-year-old driver, mentioned that he was picked up by Amotekun Corps after the arrest of his associate, Tunji, for breaking into a store and stealing.
“The arrest of my good friend (Tunji) led to mine. He was arrested for breaking into a store. Throughout his confession to Amotekun Corps, he informed them of our stealing of Micra automobiles from the place they’re parked. That was how I was also arrested,” he stated.
“Tunji is the one who has connection with our link in Lagos. He would search for a car we might choose. After telling me, I would take him to the spot in my own Micra car. Generally, I would not go together with him. He would go alone. All I might do is to offer him cash that he would wish or battery for the car.
“He would take the Micra car to the buyer at Ijora in Lagos. He would then be given N10,000 as part payment, with a stability of N60,000 paid after. So, the quantity we had been selling the stolen car was N70,000. We used to share it equally.”
He confirmed the Deputy Commandant’s statement, saying that he and his associate began the crime in May and had stolen 5 Micra cars, three of which had been efficiently taken to Lagos State while the remaining two had been deserted at a spot alongside the street once they developed irreparable faults.
When requested about the price of a used Micra to be sold as scrap, Abayomi mentioned it will be between N300,000 and N350,000, while a Tokunbo one can be about N1.5 million.
