What You Need To Know About The Umbrella Academy Season 3
The Umbrella Academy season 3 is officially in the works, and we can’t wait to see what time period it ends up taking place in. The mind-bending plot makes it hard to predict what will happen next, but we have an idea of who some of the key players will be. Here’s what we know about what’s coming up!.
The Umbrella Academy season 3 is in the works.
The Umbrella Academy season 3 is in the works, and it’s happening on Netflix. The streaming service announced that they’re renewing the show for a 10-episode third season, which will air in 2020. The Umbrella Academy stars Ellen Page as Vanya Hargreeves, Tom Hopper as Luther Hargreeves, David Castañeda as Diego Altamira, Emmy Raver-Lampman as Allison Hargreeves and Robert Sheehan as Klaus Hargreeves.
In addition to these core cast members and their characters’ individual story arcs from previous seasons (Vanya’s PTSD; Allison and her powers; etc.), showrunner Steve Blackman said there are two new characters coming up in this next installment who will be played by two big movie stars: one of whom he describes as “the worst person on Earth”.
Season 1 ended with a massive cliffhanger.
Season 1 ended with a massive cliffhanger. It was a shock to the audience that we were left with many questions and no answers. We’re looking forward to seeing how things play out in Season 2, where we hope all our questions will be answered.
The ending left us with many questions, including what happened next? What did they do after that? Who knows?
Season 1 left us with a ton of questions.
Season 2 left us with a lot of questions. For example: What happened to the Handler’s daughter? Is she still alive? What is her identity and why did they have to leave her behind? We also don’t know much about the Handler himself, except that he has powers similar to those of Vanya’s. The Handler had a secret relationship with his daughter, who presumably died when she was young—or so we think at this point. We’re more than ready for answers in Season 3!
What will happen to Vanya between seasons 2 and 3?
This is where we come to the crux of our article. What will happen to Vanya between seasons 2 and 3? To answer this question, we have to understand what happened at the end of season 2.
Vanya lost all of her powers. She went from being able to levitate, teleport, manipulate objects with her mind, read minds and more-to being completely powerless in a matter of minutes. That loss is hard enough for any teenager who grew up with their powers as a part of them; but when your family are also mutants with special abilities it can be even harder.
Not only did Vanya lose her powers but she also lost every person she loved including: Sir Reginald Hargreeves (her father), Hazel Hargreeves (her mother), Klaus Hargreeves (her older brother), Diego Perez (her boyfriend) and Ben Caulfield (a fellow Litter Rat). We don’t know exactly what happened to these characters after they were sent away by Mother’s organization but we do know that they no longer live together as a happy family unit like they once did before Vanya was born into existence so there must have been some drama among them too before they were separated forever…
If you’re wondering why this is important then let me explain using an example from another show: The 100 which just wrapped up its sixth season on The CW Network last week after six years off air…
Will Allison and Luther stay together?
Allison’s love for Luther is clear. The two are a couple, they are in love and they are together in the future. They’re also together in the present, as we see them walking hand-in-hand together toward the end of Episode 6. And they’re not just together—they’re married! So what did their wedding look like? Well…
Will Number Five ever get his powers back?
Considering that the show’s main plot is centered around the Handler (John Stamos) taking away Number Five’s powers, it seems like a safe bet that he’ll get them back eventually. On the other hand, if you want to be pessimistic about things and think he won’t ever get his powers back, there are plenty of reasons why that could happen.
For one thing, we don’t know for certain that Number Five will gain access to his time travel ability again; it seems more likely that we’ll see him use other abilities instead. Or maybe we’ll see him trying to figure out how to change the past without using his own powers—it’d certainly be interesting if they went down this route! Is there anyone who has similar powers? And even if they do find someone else with similar abilities, what happens if they fail? You can imagine how much worse their situation might become…
Who is the Handler’s daughter?
You’ll find yourself asking, who is the Handler’s daughter?
Well, it’s important to remember that she isn’t a part of The Umbrella Academy—but she’s still an important character. She’s not in any of the scenes with Hargreeves’ family or their kids, but she does have a central role in solving the show’s biggest mysteries. You might have noticed her name on some of those documents you found at The Factory; she sent them back in time and knows how they can get home again.
She’s also probably not just some random person either because there were hints to her existence as early as season two when we met Die Nachtigall (Nighty Night) and learned about how Hargreeves was able to keep his powers under control by using drugs manufactured by an unknown company called Nightingale Labs which we later learned was owned by Solomon Seltzer aka Father Time aka Number Five whose last name was also “Nightingale”—but it seems like he kept changing his identity so many times that even though he had all these different aliases for himself none of them ever knew about each other until now!
Will they actually all reunite in 1989 like they promised each other?
- Will they actually all reunite in 1989 like they promised each other?
- That’s the biggest question for season three. The Handler said so, but she also lied about being their mother. However, if that was a lie too, then there’s no reason why she wouldn’t lie again and say that the Umbrella Academy must reunite in 1989 without giving any explanation at all. So maybe the Handler really is their mother and has given them some kind of prophecy or destiny? Or maybe this is just one more way to use them as pawns in her game against Blackwood and his army?
If the Handler’s daughter sent them back, who else was she talking to in the future’s past?
The Handler’s daughter also mentioned a conversation she had with someone else. It was a conversation between the future and the past, about the present. She said that “the world was ending” and that she wanted to save everyone, but she couldn’t because of this person who was against her. Then another person asked her what happened next, or if they could help her in any way—and she replied by saying “I don’t know yet” before hanging up on them!
Who else could this be? We know it wasn’t another Handler because they aren’t present at any point during the episode or series (unless there is more than one). Could it be someone from The Umbrella Academy? Maybe even one of The Séance? Or even someone completely different than that? Only time will tell…
Will there be a time jump again between seasons 2 and 3?
There’s a lot of time jumping in The Umbrella Academy, but that could change with season 3. The first season took place entirely in the present day, while the second season was set during their childhoods—so it makes sense that the third season would be set after they’ve all grown up. But if so, what does that mean for Vanya Hargreeves?
Will she have been cured of her time-traveler powers and returned to her normal life? Or will we see her again as an adult? And if so, how much further into the future will we go? It’s possible that some clues lie within the Handler’s daughter herself: In addition to being able to travel through time herself at any moment, she also has access to knowledge about things that haven’t happened yet. She knows who every member of The Umbrella Academy is going to marry (not including herself), and even knows who one of them will have children with (who isn’t currently alive).
So if you’re curious about what might happen next for these characters after their final encounter with Vanya towards the end of Season 2 Episode 8 “Walk” (spoiler alert!), keep watching!
The Umbrella Academy Season 3 will answer some of our burning questions.
The Umbrella Academy season 3 will answer some of our burning questions.
One of the biggest unanswered questions from The Umbrella Academy is what happened to the Handler’s daughter, who was last seen as a baby being taken away by a nurse in an episode that aired in 2017. In an interview with Syfy Wire, showrunner Steve Blackman confirmed that she will play a role in season 3: “The biggest thing I wanted to address was her history and what happened to her.” He also said that the team has started working on scripts for the next series.
Conclusion
While there’s no word yet on when we can expect season 3, the wait will be more than worth it. There’s so much we don’t know about the Umbrella Academy, and as we look deeper into their lives, they keep getting even more interesting.
It’ll be great to find out what happened to Vanya between seasons 2 and 3;
I have no doubt she has a big role to play in the coming episodes. We also need answers to those lingering questions from season 1: who is the Handler’s daughter? Will Five ever get his powers back? The possibilities are endless! Season three will undoubtedly answer some of these questions for us—so let’s just sit tight until then!
