China is leading the narratives of the “flying car” after Chinese electronic vehicle maker Xpeng Inc (9868.HK) completed a test flight for its X2 aircraft in Dubai.
Reuters report that the X2 is a two-seater electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft lifted by eight propellers – two at each corner of the vehicle.
The company plans to roll out its electric aircraft to the international market after the success of its first public flight in the United Arab Emirates.
The manufacturers view the success of the unmanned, 90-minute test flight in Dubai on Monday, October 10, as an “important base for the next generation of flying cars.”
Nigerians on social media have commended the Chinese for their technological advancement, with some saying this innovation would help them fly over Lagos traffic.
